***Since debuting in 2009, Connecticut psych band MOUNTAIN MOVERS (previously having released albums through the now defunct Trouble In Mind label) have delivered a lengthy discography floating through rich textures and experimental sounds. Now the group releases a new instrumental album, Knifethrowers. On the record, the band build from the sounds of 2024’s double album Walking After Dark, while trading in vocals for synths, keys, percussion, and drum machines. Self-recorded and mastered by JOHN MILLER, Knifethrowers sprawls five tracks with a run time of nearly 42 minutes. The songs came together as free jams and were recorded live to a Tascam 488 with no overdub. The album captures a journey through time and the changing of the seasons, reaching its destination in closing track “Blue Fort.”
