This collection brings out all the now cult-status EPs into one fluorescent lab light for all the metal examiners to inspect. Pain Effulgence, the third album from Innumerable Forms sees founder Justin DeTore (Dream Unending, Sumerlands) and crew (who comprise of members from bands such as Iron Lung, Power Trip, Mammoth Grinder, and Genocide Pact) deliver their most powerful tectonic-shifting release yet. Pain Effulgence sees IInnumerable Forms elevate the trajectory, initially brought forth with their Punishment In Flesh debut and 2022’s Philosophical Collapse, to a new plateau of megalithic death/doom artistry. Old-school early ’90s Finnish death metal coalescing with early ’90s UK death / doom (i.e. old Paradise Lost and old Anathema) continues to be the blueprint upon which Innumerable Forms contrive their sound from and with Pain Effulgence, it continues to become that much more towering and imposing. Akin to feeling the weight of an immense ancient stone of granite being lowered upon you, overwhelming suffocating darkness and monumental mournful triumph, Pain Effulgence was produced by Arthur Rizk and features art by Katie Muller.

On this EP they've distilled an already too grueling reality down to the most fundamental expressions of pain and struggle. The new album from cult death / doom metal outfit Innumerable Forms Philosophical Collapse, the follow up to 2018’s Punishment In Flesh, is a pillar of death / doom enormity unparalleled. Helmed by founder Justin DeTore (aka DFJ), Philosophical Collapse (which was produced by Arthur Rizk) emerges as Innumerable Forms’ most triumphant work as alongside DFJ (Dream Unending, Sumerlands), guitarists Chris Ulsh (Mammoth Grinder / Power Trip / Devil Master) and Jensen Ward (Iron Lung), drummer Connor Donnegan (Genocide Pact), and bassist Doug Cho deliver an opus that coalesces the old school Finnish death metal cult of the early ’90s and the early ’90s UK doom glory of Anathema / Paradise Lost.

This was meant to be a cassette for a European tour with FACELESS BURIAL and OSSUARY. The tour is rescheduled for 2021 for now. We shall see if that actually happens or not. Probably not. ***NOW AVAILABLE ON CASSETTE!!!  Received a 7.5 rating from Pitchfork.  Massachusetts-based death metal force Innumerable Forms have completed their much anticipated, devastating debut album Punishment In Flesh. Formed in 2007 by mastermind Justin DeTore (Sumerlands, Magic Circle, Mind Eraser), a veteran of the Boston hardcore / power violence scene, as a solo project to bring forth his vision of death metal influenced by the Finnish style circa 1991, it quickly generated a cult following with their live shows supporting a small amount of releases, consisting of the Dark Worship 7-inch EP, a split with Blessed Offal, and the Frozen To Death compilation cassette. Now with this debut, they will harness the true spirit of ancient darkness and fury, seething with sheer brutality and primal rawness with total disregard and contempt for modern-day death metal.  While DeTore pretty much handled all the instruments himself on previous recordings, for this he assembled a full band (which has also been the live lineup as well) including guitarists Chris Ulsh (Mammoth Grinder, Power Trip) and Jensen Ward (Iron Lung), bassist Doug Cho (The Rival Mob), and drummer Connor Donnegan (Genocide Pact).
