Reconquista Volume III by Templars

Templars

Reconquista Volume III
Templecombe

***Besides being the definitive American Oi! band, TEMPLARS are also one of the most prolific. Needless to say, any Templars completist has their work cut out for them. Lucky for you, the band have done their best to simplify the task with their ongoing Reconquista series.Compiling B-sides, outtakes, comp tracks, singles, and rarities of every other conceivable variety, the Reconquista compilations are must-have wax for any TEMPLARS diehard. Which is why TKO is very pleased to announce the third entry in our continuing collaboration with the band’s own Templecombe Records on the Reconquista project.Reconquista Volume III is the first new entry in the series since 2020, and contains some of the most obscure and hard to find TEMPLARS material yet. Spanning 1996 through 2011, Volume III is above all a testament to the band’s unparalleled consistency. Tracks like “Take On The World” and “Blood, Sweat & Tears” go toe to toe with some of their best known classics, despite being released nearly 20 years onto the band’s lifespan. First pressing of 666 copies.

The Return of Jaques de Molay by Templars

Templars

The Return of Jaques de Molay
Templecombe

***Recorded over the course of 1993-1994 in the band’s own "Acre" home studio, the TEMPLARS' debut full length, The Return Of Jacques De Molay, introduced the lo-fi DIY sound that would serve as the band's sonic signature over the coming decades. This decision was as pragmatic as it was artistic: the band having endured the loss of their previous master recordings to a failing studio/record label only a year prior. Determined to never again find themselves in that position, the Templars opted for self-recording, and the rest, as they say, is history. The Return Of Jacques De Molay has gone on to influence and inspire generations of Punk & Oi! bands worldwide. While the Templars debut album is held up as one of the the crown jewels of the band's discography, The Return Of Jacques De Molay, is something of a white whale among the fans of this very vinyl-orientated band. Outside of a few limited German pressings, The Return Of Jacques De Molay had previously only been available widely on CD—until now. TKO is proud to present the 30th Anniversary "Grandmaster" edition of The Return Of Jacques De Molay. Featuring painstakingly remastered audio, completely reworked packaging and the overall attention to detail that you've come to expect from TKO / Templecombe reissue collaborations, we can say without hesitation that this new versions presents The Return Of Jacques De Molay as it always should have been. Of course, the Templars lasting legacy arose from more than just the charm of...

Omne Datum Optimum by Templars

Templars

Omne Datum Optimum
Templecombe

***From their self-released 1993 demo tape through to the present day, the TEMPLARS have repeatedly established and re-established the high water mark for American OI! for three decades running, and 1998’s Omne Datum Optimum is a landmark record in the band’s genre-defining discography. Originally released in 1998 on Anti-Heros frontman Mark Noah’s GMM Records, the Templars somewhat controversially eschewed their signature home recording set up in favor of a professional studio on Omne Datum Optimum. Co-produced by Noah and Jeff Bakos at Bakos Amp Works in Atlanta, GA, the album’s cleaner sound proved divisive among fans at the time of its release. Luckily, time has proven the band’s intuition correct, with the record gaining a well-deserved cult status over the years. Despite the higher audio fidelity, there are no dulled edges and no pulled punches here—the Templars’ signature Street Rock n' Roll sound is fully intact and as potent as ever. As tuneful as it is hard, Omne Datum Optimum is bursting with the intricate bass melodies, soaring leads, Working Class swagger, and thoughtful songwriting that set the Templars apart from their peers. The current renewed interest in Oi! music makes a proper reissue of this 25-year-old classic a no-brainer, and the unexpected but welcome cultural cachet of the form means that it’s more likely than ever to get its proper due. With the benefit of hindsight, it’s apparent that Omne Datum Optimum is not only a great record, but arguably both one of the Templars’ best, and a defining...

"This is rough’n’ready audial insurrection at its most blistering and abrasive with aggressively gruff whiskey-slathered vocals, rumbling low-end three-chord guitar rhythms, frantically fierce face-slapper leads, destructive demolition bass explosions, and hearty pneumatic-drill drum thumpings.... the Templars are the cream of the crop in today’s rapidly growing oi army..... Castillo / Templars - Split by Templars / Castillo

Templars / Castillo

Castillo / Templars - Split
Templecombe

***The TEMPLARS' have long established their practice of releasing split 7"s with some of their favorite bands. Thus, it should surprise no one and excite everyone that "Lords Of The Sword" have returned to form with their first split 7” in a decade, this time with the current reigning champs of LA Oi!, CASTILLO.This is the Templars’ first foray back into the land of splits since 2015, and also features the band’s first new material since 2017’s Deus Vult LP. Ever reliable, “Let It Burn” sees the band as fierce now as they’ve always been and earns an immediate position in their still growing canon. Not to be outdone, Castillo offer up one of their signature earworms in “Where I Belong”, a three and a half minute stomper that demands immediate replay. If you’ve happened to miss the band’s rising star through the LA smog in recent years, this song should have you clamoring for their back catalogue.Few bands stick around long enough to become contemporaries with the groups they’ve influenced, and even fewer can still match their acolytes blow for blow three decades into a career, but the Templars / Castillo split is an evenly matched punch-up that proves you’re only as old as you feel.First pressing of 777 copies.
