***On Don't Come To My House Sharing Your Location, Girl Talk links up with underground rap eccentrics Michael Christmas and Chris Crack. The project was largely recorded in Gillis’ hometown of Pittsburgh, where all three artists worked together in person, with additional sessions taking place in Boston and Chicago, the respective cities of Michael Christmas and Chris Crack. The trio have a natural chemistry throughout the EP, balancing humor with earnestness and braggadocio with self-awareness. Girl Talk took the loose and experimental appeal of Michael Christmas and Chris Crack's underground hip-hop and transformed it with colorful, detailed production and a sharp sense of songcraft. It's like a mutated version of a big-budget rap album, complete with ear-catching hooks; its crossover instincts are constantly warped by offbeat sensibilities. The result is a genuinely fun album built on irreverent wordplay, memorable refrains, inspired sample flips, and nonstop shit talking. Vinyl-only instrumentals of all six tracks are on the B side.

***For 15 years, Matthew S ran Illegal Art in near-total anonymity, using aliases like Philo T. Farnsworth while building a label that challenged what was “allowed” in music. From 1998–2012, it became a lightning rod for sample-based art, pushing legal and creative boundaries before going on hiatus as the industry shifted to digital.Now, Illegal Art returns—with Matthew stepping out from behind the curtain and launching Myth Math, a more personal, song-driven project. Tongues, his debut EP, marks both a new chapter for the label and a shift in his own work: blending samples with live instrumentation, songwriting, and vocals.Originally rooted in experimental collage (including the infamous Deconstructing Beck), Illegal Art later found wider impact through artists like Girl Talk, helping legitimize sampling as a respected art form. That influence still echoes across genres today.With Myth Math, Matthew moves toward a more human, expressive sound. Inspired in part by artists like Sufjan Stevens and Jeff Tweedy, Tongues balances abstraction with accessibility. ***All Day is the fifth studio album by American musician Gregg Gillis, known by his stage name Girl Talk. The album was originally released as a free digital download by Illegal Art on November 15, 2010. Gillis composed the album using overlapping samples of 372 songs by other artists. All Day was released as one seamless 71-minute file and as 12 separate tracks, available in MP3 and FLAC. As with prior Girl Talk albums, All Day was "intended to be listened to as a whole," but was "broken up into individual tracks only for easier navigation."
