Produced by Thermals singer and songwriter Hutch Harris at Brainwash, his studio in Portland, Oregon, Under Crushing Rain is reminiscent of The Thermals’ best work; the scrappy, energetic lo-fi of their 2003 Sub Pop debut More Parts Per Million and the epic, religious imagery summoned in their 2006 opus The Body, The Blood, The Machine.
