Humanfly

***Between post-metal, psychedelic post-rock and whatever ever other post-genre label gets writers juiced comes Leeds based riff merchants HUMANFLY. Formed in the early part of the decade and including people from well known Brits CANVAS, Humanfly offer six vast, epic, metallic journeys through huge NeurISIS style heaviness and Pink Floyd via Mogwai atmospherics. Tunes like “Echoes Of The Roman Empire” and “Tjanargata / A Passage To Reykjavik” are given ample space to breathe and build before inevitably crashing into a mountain of mammoth, celestial volume. With the shortest track more than 8 minutes and the longest over 13, each song is a two or three part saga within itself. Vocals are used sparingly focusing primarily on building thematically through the music. Not yet well-known outside their native UK, 
the release of II by 20 Buck Spin will introduce Humanfly to a larger audience and push the band to the forefront of the post-post-rockmetal “genre.” (STREET DATE - 4/08/2008)
